Master of Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering

Student must select a major advisor and two other M.S. committee members; prepare a plan of study; then file the ECE Master’s Program Approval Form (from the ECE website) AND the graduation forms before completing the second semester of studies, except for 5-Year Accelerated Program students, who must file all forms by Graduate College deadlines in the FIRST semester of Master’s level. See further instructions below.

ECE Graduate Committee Policy

  • To change the program of study on an approved Admission to Candidacy Form, complete an ECE petition form (available in the ECE Graduate Office) and secure the thesis committee and Graduate Liaison’s approvals within the first week of the pertinent semester. Automatic approval is not guaranteed.
  • The thesis defense, which requires specific prior authorization by the Graduate College, should be held during the semester of intended graduation. After the defense, the final copy of the thesis must then be prepared for deposit in the main library. To assure graduation, students must heed the procedural deadlines, published online at www.ou.edu/admrec/registration.html.
