Biography
Fred N. Lee is the OG&E Professor of Electrical Engineering in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. He has published numerous refereed and journal publications. His current research interest lies in electrical power system analysis and planning.
Professor Lee is a fellow of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). He has served as chairman of the IEEE Power Engineering Society Awards and Recognition Committee and as chairman of the IEEE Power Engineering Society Working Group on multiple-time scale scheduling problems. Dr. Lee has also served on several IEEE and PES committees. He has also reviewed papers for IEEE Transactions: SMC, AC, REL and PWRS.
He has been honored with the AMOCO Good Teaching Award (University of Oklahoma), with a Distinguished Associate Lectureship (University of Oklahoma), and as the “Outstanding Professor” (University of Oklahoma Students Association).
Since joining the University of Oklahoma faculty in 1985, the research program in electrical power has become internationally recognized and was honored with the EPRI Award of Excellence by the Electric Power Research Institute.
He is the founder of a successful software company, Power Costs, Inc. Power Costs is a leading enterprise providing generation supply management systems to the electric energy industry. Headquarters for PCI are located in Norman, Oklahoma, with satellite offices in Houston, Texas and Raleigh, North Carolina.
