Biography

Professor Jiang received his doctoral degree and Master of Science degree in Power Economics and Energy Finance area from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Texas at Austin in December 2005 and December 1998 respectively. Power Economics and Energy Finance is an interdisciplinary field of Energy System, Finance and Economics.

Before joining the University, Dr. Jiang had worked for Providian Financial Corporation, San Francisco, CA, as director since 2003, where he was responsible for analysis, security pricing, trading strategy and economic research for a $3 billion investment portfolio and corporate asset-liability management. Previously, he was a consultant on various market design and operation issues at ERCOT. ERCOT operates the power grid and electricity spot market of State of Texas. Prior to that, he worked for Market Oversight Division of Public Utility Commission of Texas on market design and monitoring for nearly two years. He has over three year experience of risk management at power and utility companies.
