Dr. Liu received his college education in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing Polytechnic University; and his Masters training in Applied Physics from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. His research interest is in medical imaging. His current projects include phase and phase contrast x-ray imaging, digital mammography, digital radiography, stereo fluoroscopy, and optical and fluorescent imaging devices.
Dr. Liu is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of X-ray Science and Technology. He is a fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), and a fellow of SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering.
